Downloading and Installing the core plugin
First thing to mention is that the core plugin is free, and always will be!
The easiest way to add the core plugin (that includes profiles, activity, unlimited forums and friendships) is to go to Plugins->Add New on your WordPress admin dashboard, search for “WP Symposium Pro” and click on install.
You can download a ZIP file if you want from wordpress.org.
Come back here to find loads of support information, including video tutorials that cover installation, well worth watching…!
Downloading and Installing the Extensions plugin
The Extensions plugin can be tried on your site for free!
Once you’ve purchased a plugin or licence (or opted for the free trial), you can download the Extensions from your My Account page – you will then have a ZIP file (on a Mac, it may extract it automatically, ZIP it up again!).
So, you will then have a file called wp-symposium-pro-extensions.zip.
You can always download the file again, via your My Account page on the WP Symposium Pro website.
Remember, if your computer automatically un-ZIPs the file you downloaded, you should re-ZIP it (maybe when using a Mac?).
On your site, go to the admin Dashboard->Plugins->Add New.
Click on the “upload” link, choose your file (the ZIP file), and click on the Install Now button.
Once installed, activate it.
This assumes that you have an FTP connection to your website server.
Extract the ZIP file you downloaded from your My Account page (WP Symposium Pro website), so you have a folder called wp-symposium-pro-extensions, with all the files inside.
Via FTP, copy that folder (and all it’s contents) into your website, under the /wp-content/plugins folder (along with all your other plugins).
Go to your admin Dashboard->Plugins screen, and activate the plugin.
